The project „Interdisciplinary networking for a sustainable and circular economy (INSCE)“, funded by the ECIU SMART-ER programme action „Blended mobility to create networks“, aims to organize a series of events designed to foster cooperation and co‐creation among ECIU universities and to expand the knowledge of academic staff by sharing interdisciplinary experiences and disseminating knowledge about relevant and future research regarding the circular economy and sustainability.
Project partner Linköping University organized the meeting with project partners Kaunas University of Technology, Tampere University, and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Linköping on 15-17 March 2023. The three-day networking meeting started with a very interesting and practical visit to the companies that apply sustainable and circular solutions. After that, we had an open seminar “Pick and Mix Circular Economy and why we love it” for the public given by the division of Environmental Technology and Management at Linköping University, which led to an open discussion about current and future trends in a circular economy. This open seminar was organized in a hybrid format in order to reach a wider part of the society of ECIU University. The three-day networking meeting closed with discussions on joint project ideas in the context of specific funding calls regarding the circular economy. Such networking meetings lead to the sharing of the best practices of the researchers‘ work on the circular economy and let to identify the synergies in further collaboration, which are the basis for systemic circular change.
