Climate change, environmental degradation and ecological disasters pose a threat not only to human health and well-being, but to all types of economy. One of the measures to achieve economic growth without adversely affecting the environment is the circular economy. Despite the fact that the concept of the circular economy is already being discussed in Lithuania at the level of government or local institutions, the society is increasingly in favor of sustainability, but there is a lack of discussions on “how” and “what is needed” to implement a systematic economic transformation to circular economy in Lithuania.
This gap is filled by a comprehensive electronic scientific study “Challenges and Opportunities of the Circular Economy in Lithuania” prepared by KTU researchers – Jurgita Bruneckienė, Lina Dagilienė, Viktorija Varaniūtė, Ineta Zykienė, Žaneta Stasiškienė, Daina Kliaugaitė and Inga Gurauskienė. What is the circular economy and what is its strategy in the EU? What does the circular economy mean for Lithuania and business? What are the environmental and economic benefits of this? You will easily find the answers to these questions in the study.
According to the authors, this study is for anyone interested in the topics of the circular economy, the environment and sustainable development (more information).
