The current linear economic model (take-produce-throw-out) leads to the intensive use of natural resources, an increase in the amount of waste, and its growing negative impact on economic stability and the integration of nature. To halt these processes, the European Commission has adopted a new Circular Economy Action Plan, in which the initiatives will be developed with the active participation of business, local authorities and the community. The research conducted by KTU researchers shows in which direction Lithuanian municipalities should move in order to implement the action plan and initiatives of the circular economy (more).
