2021 International Conference on Technology and Entrepreneurship (2021 IEEE ICTE): Track – Circular economy through digitalisation.

Conferences

Digital transformation continues to provoke significant changes in individual lives and business. Such circumstances lead to our greater dependence on digital technologies and, at the same time, opens novel opportunities for entrepreneurship and innovation. Dynamic evolution of businesses requires new entrepreneurial approaches towards digitalisation strategies, organisational processes and capabilities, customer service, product development, and business models. Innovative decisions in digital technology applications for sustainable growth are a prerequisite for the majority of business markets, including healthcare, food, transportation, manufacturing, tourism, and many others. Especially, considering the COVID-2019 affected World environment, which emphasises sustainability as a priority in business processes, consumption, and technologies used.

This conference has a special track of circular economy topic entitled Circular economy through digitalisation.

The Paris Agreement on climate change compels organizations to seek to devise ways to become self-sustaining and environmentally friendly while still being profitable. The reality is that common practices driven by economic growth ambitions, consumption patterns, financial systems, and other aspects of the broader political economy still perpetuate unsustainable behaviours.

In this track we explore recent advances towards the broader field of a sustainable environment and a circular economy with special emphasis on digital technologies. We aim to understand whether digitalization is conducive to the circular economy on the levels of products, technologies, business processes, business models and related ecosystems.

The track invites submissions that explore and explain these themes: corporate environmental sustainability; circular design; financial instruments for circular economy; environmental strategies, performance and reporting; digital technologies and eco-innovation enhancing circularity; circular business models; value chains and trade; impacts of circular economy policies.
