CIDE

Circular Design as a tool for Circular Economy business model development within manufacturing companies

Why does it matter?

The main objective of the research is to develop a Circular Design (CD) based methodology (“CIDE methodology”) for Circular Economy (CE) business model development in manufacturing companies. More specifically the project aims to (i) identify the factors driving the application of CD in manufacturing companies and (ii) develop the “CIDE methodology” and apply it empirically in Lithuanian manufacturing companies. The project will improve the researcher’s qualification on management research methods and will provide the theoretical results contributing to a better understanding of CD in the management field. The results will encourage further research on CD (on the theoretical level) and the use of CD in manufacturing companies (on the practical level). Indirect social benefit – the project results will raise general awareness among businesses and the general public on Circular Design and Circular Economy, its benefits to business, consumers, and the planet. In this way, the project would contribute to the development of the CE within the EU.

Period of project implementation: 2020-09-01 – 2023-08-31 (for more information see here).
